OUR SERVICES
3D Scanning
The goal of scanning is to create a digital model. This is an accurate 3D representation of the surface of the object being scanned. A high quality 3D model may be composed of tens of millions of sample points creating a mesh of triangles.

Our Services
Scanner Technology
While there are a number of technologies used for creating 3D models the most common are photogrammetry, structured light, and laser.
While each have their own benefits and limitations we primarily use blue light laser scanners. These are metrology grade devices capable of accuracy measured in thousands of an inch.
These devices make millions of sample each second, capturing subtle details on both small and large objects.

Drop of Scanning - Bring us your object and we'll scan it as quickly as the same day.

On Site - If what you have is too big, fragile just impractical to transport we'll come to you. We scan object both indoors and outdoors. From delicate clay sculpture to monumental metal works we've tackled a wide range of projects. We travel to both domestic and foreign locations.

3D Model Work - A 3D scan, like a photograph, is often just a starting point. Preparing a 3D file for printing or for reverse engineering takes experience and a thorough understanding of how it will be used. Using your requirements we repair, refine, check, fix, merge, and optimize the scan to ensure the best results for its intended use.
DESIGN, MODIFY, SCULPT...
Increasingly, we see digital work originating from a wide variety of sources. Projects commonly combine elements from 2D vector files, 3D scans, and CAD.

Design and Modeling
Let us help you translate 2D into 3D. Turn text into a plaque, a line drawing into a 3D shape, a photo into a relief, build an armature, base.

Retouching and Modifications

Preparation and Evaluation
Scans often need post processing to look their best. From removing minor imperfection in the original, smoothing and sharpening elements, to removing or merging parts into a new form, the options are nearly limitless.
Preparing a file so it's "print ready" is a critically important step in the production process. In addition to the typical steps of conversion, preflight, cutting and slicing, there are other decisions to be made. How parts are segmented and split, joining methods, wall thickness and texture must also be considered to ensure an optimal print. We're here to suggest, evaluate and provide a second set of eyes on your project.

3D PRINTING
Thesis maintains a range of different 3D printing technologies. We can recommend the right combination of printer and materials for your project. We print parts for a range of applications including:

Architectural Models, Design Prototypes, Wax Jewlery Patterns, Large Scale Investment Casting Patterns, End Use Parts, and more.
Powder Bed
APPLICATION
-
INVESTMENT CASTING
-
LARGE SCALE MODELS
Thesis is proud to be among a handful of vendors who run the massive Voxeljet 3D printer. Weighing over 3.5 tons these German build industrial printers have a build box volume of 300L.

One of our primary technologies, powder bed/binder jet printing offers an exceptional combination of speed, cost and detail. Prints may either be infused with resin for durable models, or more typically with wax for use in lost wax casting applications. Using this technology we've produced prints for cast work over 20' tall.

Stereolithography
APPLICATION
-
INVESTMENT CASTING
-
HIGHLY DETAILED ENDS USE PARTS
-
JEWLERY PATTERNS
Stereolithography (SLA) printing produces parts with amazing detail and surface finish.
A wide variety of resins are available to suit an amazing range of applications.

FDM
APPLICATIONS
-
LARGE DURABLE PARTS
-
INVESTMENT CASTING PATTERNS
FDM printers work by heating and extruding thin layers of material, typically plastic. With printers like our Big Rep, we're able to produce very large single prints.

PRODUCTION & CONSULTING
Projects are a team effort! We're here to be part of your team.

Investment casting
We have a deep understanding of the investment casting process and can work with your existing foundry or connect you with one of our partners.

Project Consulting
We can help you start you project off right by pointing out potential problems downstream, evaluating production options, or just by providing and estimate to get you started.
